The Design Process

Our expertise is making your ultimate fitout concept into the most practical reality. In most cases our clients come to us with a pretty good idea of what they want based on existing design guidelines and their own ideas. We can assist with preliminary layout proposals for all the relevant approvals then see it through to completion. In other cases a fair bit of concept design may be required to produce something new and unique.

Our business is Shopfitting but we make no pretence about our retailing expertise. When it comes to developing a fitout ‘concept’ we listen to the experts and that’s you or your design consultant if you are using one. A design consultant is usually a specialist retail design architect, interior designer or consultant. A consultant can assist in a variety of ways in the design process but is not necessarily required beyond concept stage depending on your preference, experience or budget.

ECCO Shopfitting has worked with and can recommend several highly regarded retail design consultants. Clarkson Monaghan Design is our own retail design consulting service as distinct from our Shopfitting business. This service offers the right balance of design flare, industrial design experience and retail knowledge to prepare retail concepts for reality. A Sharing of resources between the two businesses also improves efficiencies that save our clients time and money.

The Quote Process

Within the preceding design process concepts are refined to a point where materials and production methods are specified in detail. Our estimator uses this information to determine a cost estimate for supply, installation and transport to site. This is our quote for your approval, subject to further design changes or project scope. A contract will follow for your final go-ahead. This is usually signed once all relevant approvals and finance has been gained. Our pricing is always based on the best economical use of raw materials and labour. Multiple quotes are sourced from third party suppliers for non standard items to get you the best price. All quotes are fully itemised for your scrutiny.

The Fitout Process

It’s one thing to create the perfect retail design but quite another putting it on the ground on time and on budget. A typical shopfitting project requires the coordination of multiple trade services. Preliminary work is also required to obtain approvals from the building owner and local authorities. The project management of these tasks can be handled by any one of a number of authorised contractors within your supply chain. ECCO Shopfitting has the expert capability and experience to offer you anything from supply only to total project management services.
